PureJoy
I have owned PureJoy since October 2010. She is a 1973 model which makes her very sturdy and was purchased with the intention of sailing around the UK as a retirement project.

Preparation for this trip has been hard but enjoyable work.
Morgan Marine have provided excellent yard services and they now have an Online shop which can supply and deliver anything boat related quickly at very good prices.

A new suit of sails have been purchased from Crusader Sails who gave an excellent service and a very keen price.as did Sailspar with my new Roller Reefing. They have also provided me with a complimentary “Boomlock 2” for my safety in preventing unexpected gybing. A very big “Thank You” to Penny and Derek for their help and generosity.
Other additions have been an ST2000 Tiller Pilot, Standard Horizon C300 Chart Plotter and an AIS engine.
For comfort an Eberspacher D2 heater has also been installed.

Mechanical propulsion is by a 30 hp Watamota. This is a 1600 Ford Pinto engine (Cortina/Capri) converted to diesel and marinised. A 12v starter motor is fed with 24v to "whip it over" for starting. Unusual but it works well and has been very reliable. Because it is a Ford spares are no problem.
